Celebrating Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things

Darrell Waltrip Automotive's Hometown Heroes is a monthly event which honoring Middle Tennessee residents who are making a difference in their community, Those who have been honored include a mother who led the charge to change the legal blood concentration level lowered from .10 to .08, Vanderbilt's LifeFlight team who on a daily basis save lives with their emergency room in the sky, community leaders who in their spare time have started initiatives that have changed thousands of lives for the better, a 15 year old who lost her special ops father in Afghanistan who leads an event every year to make the lives of the children of the fallen just a little better as well as teachers, veterans, police officers and more.  We want to help shine the light on their good deeds, but we need your help!

Local Pastor Leads Outreach Program

"A voice for the voiceless" is how Chris Whitney from One Generation Away described his friend Kevin Riggs, Pastor of Franklin Community Church and the Director of Franklin Community Development (FCD).   FCD partners community organizations, government agencies, and churches to offer HOPE to citizens of Franklin and Williamson County. Housing, Occupational Training, Prisoner Care and Education.  Since July 2019 FCD has placed 21 homeless people in permanent housing.  

 

"Kevin's heart and actions for the Natchez Street and Homeless Community is second to none. From running The Community Center and The Group Home Kevin is reaching all age demographics by meeting practical needs and spiritual needs of friends and neighbors."
