2014 Subaru Forester in Tennessee

Why is the 2014 Subaru Forester the ideal crossover SUV for Tennessee's drivers?

Power and Performance

The 2014 Subaru Forester offers two type of Boxer engine options. The 2.5 Liter engine is capable of getting 170 horsepower and a peak torque of 174 pound-feet. Rated at 250 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, the 2.0 L turbocharged engine has a powerful kick that is comparable to sports cars. The turbo power is available only on the 2.0 XT Premium and 2.0 XT Touring. The other 2014 Subaru Forester trims have the standard 2.5 Liter engine. Both of these Subaru Boxer engines use Dual Overhead Camshaft Technology in the valves. With the horizontally opposed configurations, both of these four cylinder engines are unlike any other engine blocks.

Transmission

The 2.5i and 2.5i Premium 2014 Subaru Forester come standard with a 6 speed fully synchronized manual transmission system. All other models are loaded with the innovative Lineatronic Continuously Variable Transmission. However, the CVT transmission system is also available for the 2.5i and 2.5i Premium trims. The Lineatronic CVT for the Forester 2.5i models comes with a low mode. The 2.0 XT models have a CVT system featuring 6 and 8 speed manual shift modes ans also paddle shifters. The key feature of the CVT is the application of belts instead of traditional mechanical gear components. The use of belts allows for an infinite number of combinations for accelerating and shifting. When using the Continuously Variable Transmission technology, you definitely will not feel the sudden jerks associated with gear shifting.

With the rear seats folded down, the cargo capacity can be expanded to over 70 cubic feet. A 10 way power driver's seat comes standard in all 2014 Forester models except the 2.5i model. With the exception of the 2.5i trim, all of the Forester models feature a panoramic moonroof that offers amazing views of the sky.
